Marketing Resume Examples

Marketing resumes live and die by numbers, the field is inherently measurable, and a resume that doesn't quantify results reads as either inexperienced or unaware of what matters in the role. What changes across career levels isn't the need for metrics, but which metrics and how much strategic ownership you claim.

Entry-Level / Coordinator

Focus on execution and learning velocity, you're not expected to own strategy yet, but you should show you can run campaigns and read the results.

✅ "Managed a $5K/month paid social budget across Instagram and TikTok, achieving a 2.8x ROAS and growing follower base by 40% in one quarter."

  • Include internships and academic projects if you're early career, a real campaign you ran for a student org counts.
  • List specific tools: Meta Ads Manager, Google Analytics, HubSpot, Mailchimp, Canva.

Mid-Level / Marketing Manager

Shift language from "executed" to "owned", you're expected to set strategy for a channel or campaign, not just run it.

✅ "Owned the email marketing strategy for a 200K-subscriber list, redesigning the lifecycle flow to lift conversion rate from 1.2% to 3.4% and add $180K in attributed quarterly revenue."

  • Show cross-functional work, coordinating with sales, product, or design.
  • Mention team size if you managed people or contractors.

Senior / Director

At this level, resumes should read almost like a business case study, budget size, team leadership, and revenue or growth impact at a company level.

✅ "Built and led a 12-person marketing team managing a $2.4M annual budget; repositioned brand messaging ahead of a Series B raise, contributing to a 3x increase in inbound demo requests."

Keywords That Show Up Most in ATS Scans

Match these to what's actually in the job posting rather than listing all of them:

  • "Campaign management," "brand strategy," "demand generation," "growth marketing"
  • Platform names: Google Ads, Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads, SEO/SEM specifically rather than "digital marketing" alone
  • "CRM" plus the specific one you've used (Salesforce, HubSpot, Marketo)
  • Metrics vocabulary: ROAS, CAC, LTV, MQL/SQL, conversion rate

Common mistake at every level: listing responsibilities from a job description template instead of what you personally drove. "Responsible for social media strategy" tells a recruiter nothing about whether it worked. Always close the loop with the result.
